slow halloween

This was probably the slowest Halloween either of us have ever had.  Melissa gave our friend Dan and his cat a ride to the animal hospital.  I worked on a website. We didn't have ONE SINGLE trick-or-treater. That's fine with me.

Melissa and Finch enjoying TV & fireplace.

The pumpkins are out and the candy bowl is still full - that's the breaks when you live near a train yard.

pumpkin carving

Tuesday night Bill and Barb had us over to carve pumpkins, eat chili and drink ale.

One says MEDIUM, the other says LARGE.  Not sure what the rabbit ears are for.

Guts.

It was cold so Finch slept on a shopping bag.

Who says you can't BBQ when it's freezing?

More from Vancouver

Here's a few more shots from Vancouver that I took with my phone.

Their chrome cuckoo clock.

Fiona and Melissa again.

Vancouver party!

We went to Vancouver last weekend for Meghan's birthday party.

That's Chris in the peacoat. He's demonstrating the chopping motion from a crackhead machete/sword fight near his house.

Meghan got Spanish tapes! (they're going to Argentina for a month)

Fun opening plastic utensils

Fruitcake

I haven't been to a real house party in ages. Look how crowded the living room was!

Outside got crowded too

Anxious to get Finch, we woke up early and headed home. This shot was a happy accident - I really wish that truck wasn't there though

Every time I see this sign, I have a terrible hangover.

Thanks for having us, that was one hell of a party! Vancouver is the best city on earth...

Wed. & Thursday

Shots from the last couple of days...

Our beautiful family.

Melissa got a new hat.

Finch enjoying the fire and TV.

Melissa has this silly pink kitty hat.

She practiced balero.

Our morning walk.  This must have been around 8:30, because it's still dark as night at 7:30. This hill is so steep, there's little grooves in the sidewalk so you don't go sliding down.

We're heading to Vancouver this weekend for Meghan's birthday, so I'm sure we'll have plenty to post afterwards.

Fall colors

We've been telling lots of people how cool the fall colors are, but never had photos. Today was probably the nicest day I've ever seen, so we went to the arboretum and took pictures.

These really bright, saturated photos are from the phone camera.

A spooky one for halloween.

Dude.

Very art school assignment...

Action shot with some fill light on the shadow side - just like shooting a car.

Some scenarios were so vivid and colorful, they made the camera freak out. Psychedelic.

These look like Christmas, but I'll bet they're poison.

Isn't that wild how the sky made Finch purple?

The city through the trees.

Another dude picture to break up all the leaves.
