Mark & Meghan

Mark & Meghan came down for a visit from Vancouver this past weekend.

Before they arrived, Bill and Finch talked.

Finch and Cheddar playing. Finch was being a jerk to her all night.

After Mark & Meghan arrived, we BBQd. Didn't start the grill until 10:30 / 11, so it was a real late night.

Next day was pretty hot, so we went to the beach. Melissa and Finch exploring.

It took a while to get used to the water, but Finch finally went in. He seemed to liked it, because he went in a few times.

Kicking back.

We saw an unmarked, non-commercial jumbo jet being escorted by a jet fighter. Must be the president.

Then it was off to Seafood Festival in Ballard.

Mark and Gyro.

Melissa and I had those crab cakes in the background, and they were the worst I've ever had. Of all places in the world, you'd think they would be great.

Mark and fruit Sunday.

Melissa had crawfish chowder.

Then we hung out in the beer garden for a while. It was a really nice beer garden with waitresses and snacks and a view of the wacky entertainment.

This goldfish cracker was the best fish I had at the festival. Don't get me wrong, it was a lot of fun, just crappy food.

Beer tent!

Normally, Melissa and a giant fish are all I need for a great photo, but check out the lady to the left gazing seriously into his mouth.

Ended the night at the bar down the street listening to people across the street yell at each other.  Funny stuff seems to always happen when Mark & Meghan are around. Had a really good visit, come back soon!

Finch comes home!!!

He slept most of the drive.

We went on 3 walks in one evening.

We played a bunch.

He was really well behaved while we BBQ'd and ate dinner.

He loves looking out the window.

This is the polo shirt he came home with. As far as dog clothes go, I think it's pretty cool.

I'm amazed at how much he farts and how potent they are. He completely smells up the whole room for several minutes and has no problem letting one fly in your face.

I didn't take many photos because we were spending all our time with him, but I'm sure he'll be on every blog post from now on...

Pre-Finch BBQ

We pick up our new dog Finch tomorrow. Here's the bed, leash and some toys we have for him.

The yard is ready with a baby gate and a trash can for his poo.

Melissa loves potatoes.

We get Finch tomorrow...

Dog park Friday

This past Friday I had lunch with Bill. Afterwards, we went to a 9 acre off-leash dog area in Magnusson Park.  Sorry in advance, but the next few posts are going to be very dog-centric. I took a bunch of photos at the park because I've never seen such an elaborate place for K-9s.

Lunch at the Hi-Life in Ballard.

This is Cheddar.

Cheddar's a really cool dog.

Me and Cheddar while Bill was dealing with work.

Made a pit stop at PetCo for treats and things.

This massive field is just the entrance to the dog park.

Then you walk down a tree lined path.

To a long straight-away.

Down another tree lined path.

To a big play area (just incase the dog needs to go bezerk).

The last stretch.

Hurry up, open the gate...

All-dog beach!!  And the view is amazing.

Cheddar in one of the endless wood chip fields.
